Wines for this year’s fine wine auction have generously been donated from some of the city’s very best cellars. These wines have been stored in impeccable conditions and will be perfect additions to your own collections. The wines donated include some of the most famous chateaux and estates from some of the best vintages, all with stellar critical acclaim. Some of the fine wines donated include:
1997 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne - Domaine Guigal is viewed as the best Cote Rotie producer. La Landonne is the biggest and sturdiest of Guigal’s three Cote Roties and as such takes longer to mature and lasts longer. Robert Parker Jr. gave this wine a 98.
2000 Chateau Mouton Rothschild – a Bordeaux first growth from the fabulous 2000 “millennial” vintage. The gold-engraved bottle is one of the most beautiful Bordeaux bottles ever produced – a true work of art. The wine is exquisite and was rated 96 by wine critic Robert Parker Jr.
1996 Domaine de la Romanee Conti, La Tache – known as DRC, it is the most famous producer in Burgundy and regarded as one of the world’s greatest estates. La Tache is viewed as one of the best of their eight grands crus. Their wines garner some of the highest prices at auction. This wine scored 19.5/20 from Jancis Robinson.
2008 Dominus Estate, Christian Moueix, Napa Valley – Dominus Estateowner Christian Moueix, of Chateau Petrus fame, made arguably one of the best Napa wines in 2008. Robert Parker Jr. gave this a near perfect 99 and said it should drink well for 25-30 years.
2000 Chateau Pavie, St. Emilion – A Robert Parker Jr. perfect wine at 100 points. He states 2000 Pavie is “one of the most monumental wines Bordeaux has ever produced...exhibits a massive display of richness and extract, yet with pinpoint delineation and vibrancy...”
1996 Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon Brut – The 1996 vintage from the famous Champagne house garnered rave reviews from Robert Parker Jr. “I have had a lot of great vintages of Dom Perignon, but I do not remember any as impressive as the 1996… Moet-Chandon deserves considerable accolades for this prodigious example of Dom Perignon.
